We hope you can find answers to your questions on our user wiki, either for the simulation platform or the board game. The user community wiki is under constant development and contains things like manuals, references, users and much more.
Can I use the simulation platform for online, remote education?
Yes you can! Educational institutes are picking it up for this purpose. We can help to install a server, moderate a session and develop a didactic program. We can bring you into contact with other lecturers who have done it. Send us an email.
Is it possible to purchase (a copy of) the board game?
Yes, you can buy a copy of the board game. Please send an email to contact@MSPchallenge.info. with board game in the subject and give some background to your request. We will get back to you asap.
what does it cost to buy a board game?
The price of a board game copy depends on whether you want to have modifications and add your logo. Price starts from 3500 euro.
is a copy available in my region? Can i get it on loan?
There are by now dozens of copies and editions of the board game in nearly all regions of the world. Owners of these copies are listed on the user community wiki. You are free to contact any one of the owners with a request to use one.
Is it possible to make adjustments to the board game?
To some extent you can. This mainly involves adding or removing certain marine and maritime symbols and/or logo(s) of your institution(s). Modifications to the existing design requires work for our designer, and will therefore add to the costs.
what about IP, copyrights and user license?
Intellectual property and copyrights remain with the original designers of the board game under the MSP Challenge initiative. A full user license for board game and simulation platform is available on the user community wiki. By purchasing a copy of the board game, you will get rights to use the board game, which includes giving it on loan to others, and/or charge for your services such as the moderation of a workshop with the game. However you are not granted the rights to commercialize or exploit the board game product itself, for instance by reselling your copy, redesign, reprint, copy or distribute the board game and/or charge a license fee for the use of the board game.
